Christmas is a time for giving and if you happen to be in Las Vegas anytime between the end of November and early January, you will have an excellent opportunity to enjoy fabulous holiday lights, entertainment, and great food plus you will be able to give back to the community.
For twenty-three years, Opportunity Village has been hosting a winter wonderland with millions of sparkling lights in what has become a southern Nevada tradition, the Magical Forest.
Opportunity Village was founded in 1954 and serves more than 1,700 men and women with intellectual disabilities by providing them with programs and services to help enrich their lives. All proceeds generated by the Magical Forest benefit Opportunity Village in their endeavor to help these individuals lead a fulfilling life.
The event runs on Sundays through Thursdays from 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM and Fridays & Saturdays from 5:30 PM – 10:00 PM. Visitors can enjoy a forest filled with hundreds of decorated trees and ride several rides including the Forest Express Passenger Train, Cheyenne’s Enchanted Carousel, and the Avalanche Slide. Magical Forest also includes other entertainment options including Rudolph’s Raceway, Rod’s Mini-Golf, Magical Midway and Boris the Elf’s 3D Experience. There is nightly entertainment provided by various acts currently performing on the strip and countless photo opportunities with Santa, Boris the Elf, and the Magical Forest mascots, Ovie Bear and girlfriend Honey Bear.
General admission tickets are $11 for adults and $9 for children. To enjoy unlimited rides and attractions, Adult Passports can be purchased for $20 and Children’s Passports for $18. Opportunity Village offers several discounts on tickets so check the web page for more information.
The event, which is Opportunity Village’s largest fundraiser, captivates children and adults with sights and sounds of the holiday season. Take an opportunity to visit and you’ll be supporting a good cause.
