Holidays in Southern California: King Harbor Christmas Boat Parade (Redondo Beach)

2013_HolidayBoat-Parade_Flyer_10-14-13

Each year, the King Harbor Yacht Club hosts the annual Christmas Boat Parade in Redondo Beach, California.  Founded 22 years ago, this premier community event harnesses the joy of the holiday season with brightly decorated boats parading through the marina.  The event draws locals and visitors alike with a free concert on Redondo Beach Pier at 3:00 PM (100 Fisherman’s Wharf) followed by the Christmas Boat Parade at 5:30 PM. Santa arrives at the end of the pier with his surfboard to greet kids and take photos.  There are holiday carolers strolling along the pier and local restaurants such as Joe’s Crab Shack and Ruby’s Diner offer excellent views of the boat procession.
